At 11:00 on June 11, the construction of the Shangli Tunnel, the longest tunnel and key control project of the Huangtong-Baise Railway (hereinafter referred to as the Huangbai Railway), officially started. The Shangli Tunnel is located in Leye County, Baise City, Guangxi Province. It is 17,276 meters long and is the longest tunnel on the Huangbai Railway. The tunnel is located in the slope transition zone between the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Guangxi Basin, with a large terrain undulation.

During the construction process, the construction unit applied intelligent energy-saving ventilation technology to the tunnel to improve the working environment of front-line workers, save cycle footage time, and ensure construction progress.

Huangbai Railway is located in Guizhou and Guangxi, with a total length of about 315 kilometers and a designed speed of 160 kilometers per hour. It is a national Class I single-track electrified railway. The line starts from Huangtong Station in Puding County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province, passes through Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Ziyun Miao and Buyi Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province, Wangmo County, Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and Leye County and Lingyun County, Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and connects to Baise Station. The Guangxi section of Huangbai Railway has 33 new tunnels with a total length of 109.735 kilometers, 33 new bridges with a total length of 15.974 kilometers, and a bridge-tunnel ratio of 90.6%.
